His leadership was instrumental in navigating complex mergers and acquisitions, implementing advanced enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and optimizing financial processes to enhance operational efficiency.
Sonck’s journey in finance began at Deloitte in 2001, where he honed his skills before moving to Beaulieu in 2005. His tenure at Beaulieu was marked by strategic financial leadership, including the expansion and integration of international finance teams, which positioned the company for sustainable growth.
Eddy Duquenne, CEO of Kinepolis Group, expressed confidence in Sonck’s ability to steer the company towards its strategic goals. “Pieter-Jan’s solid financial foundation and extensive international experience make him an invaluable asset to Kinepolis as we continue to expand our footprint and enhance our offerings to moviegoers around the world,” Duquenne stated.
In his new role, Sonck will be responsible for overseeing Kinepolis’ financial operations, driving strategic growth initiatives, and creating value for shareholders. He shared his enthusiasm for joining the Kinepolis team, stating, “I am thrilled to be part of Kinepolis, a company with tremendous growth potential. I look forward to contributing to the company’s success and ensuring that we continue to deliver exceptional value to our customers and stakeholders.”
Sonck’s appointment marks a significant step in Kinepolis Group’s ongoing commitment to strengthening its leadership team as it continues to grow and innovate in the cinema industry. His expertise in financial management and strategic planning is expected to play a critical role in achieving Kinepolis’ long-term vision and objectives.
